I was shocked to read the news today….but after all it make sense. Google won great battle and are the incontestable leader of Western internet. But the last 5 years showed the rise of Facebook, I noticed it when i started reading techcrunch and all news about “this new guys at facebook, former Google employee”…The brain drain was starting.
In China Google is as prestigious as in the West as a place to work, but when Kaifu Lee -previous Google China CEO and developer’s “rock start”- quit Google mid 2009 to create his incubator of start-up…the brain drain started here. Anyway, Google still have big change to renew themselves: nice improvement of email with priority inbox, rise of Android as mobile OS, extension of adsense to mobile plateform, adoption of some kind of social search (they can still improve there!) And they already bring so much: a disrupting technology to search the internet, free access to information for all with an original business model of SEM, 20% free time to work on your own project for their employees (that should totally become a norm for all dynamic companies!). Hope to so more disrupting tech coming from them in the next 10 years!ps: Steve job is also stepping down…. Who’s next?
